CCA Life » Academic Curriculum
At Cornerstone, we consider our curriculum to be of paramount importance to the effectiveness of our classroom instruction, and a key distinguishing factor between private schools and public schools. Public school curricula are dictated by state agencies and county school boards and, increasingly, the federal government. In contrast, our staff spent hundreds of hours researching the most current, effective, and God-centered textbooks available, ultimately choosing those which would also be flexible enough to allow adjustment to individual teaching and learning styles.
Our curriculum presents a balanced view in the areas of history and science. Language arts instruction includes a strong phonetic approach, and in math we emphasize mastery of basic skills before progressing to more complex concepts.
In support of our curriculum, we have a fully-equipped computer lab. Most students will utilize the lab daily. All will attend at least twice weekly.
We believe that on curriculum alone, we stand as one of the best private schools in Gwinnett County. Feel free to review our enrichment program and after school program to get a more complete picture of student life at Cornerstone Christian Academy.
