| Orton-Gillingham
As of Fall 2012, all of our lower school teachers will be trained in the Orton-Gillingham method (a multi-sensory educational approach to language arts). At Cornerstone, we are building a bridge between reading and writing. We focus on reading strategies that help students develop a mastery of decoding and comprehension skills. By using a systematic approach to phonics, our students develop word knowledge which moves them toward conventional spelling. |

| Cans for Kids' Wishes
The Cornerstone Cougars never miss an opportunity to help others or learn how to be good stewards of our resources and planet. That’s why we are excited about a new program at our school called Cans for Kids’ Wishes! By collecting aluminum beverage cans at our school, we can help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Georgia & Alabama to grant special wishes for local children with life-threatening medical conditions. By doing something good for others, we will in turn earn funding from Novelis – the world’s largest recycler of aluminum cans. READ MORE...

| Fresh Healthy Vending
In the fall of 2011, Cornerstone added a fresh healthy vending machine. We believe it’s never too early to teach kids about healthy eating habits. |

“I can't imagine how my daughter would learn and grow as much if she were in a public school with twice as many kids in the classroom. She has developed a close relationship with her teacher because they spend so much time together.”
— Third Grade Parent
