About: | Austin McDonald is a Lower School P.E. teacher at Cornerstone. He coaches Middle School cross country and soccer. He is originally from Fitzgerald, Georgia, but now lives in Dunwoody. Austin attended Valdosta State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education. He also was a Varsity Cross Country athlete for four years. He received the Academic All-American award for two years, which requires the athlete to have over a 3.25 overall GPA and finish in the top 30% of competitors in the region. Austin served as a community cross country coach in South Georgia before moving to Atlanta. In addition to running, Austin has a passion for soccer, playing for the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes in high school as well as refereeing for three years. Prior to joining the staff at Cornerstone, he was an elementary school physical education teacher in Douglas County for nearly two years. Austin is a member of the Dunwoody United Methodist Church. |
