Emily Dowling
Emily Dowling has taught Bible at Cornerstone Christian Academy since 2023 and began serving as Director of Christian Life in 2026. Emily grew up in Gwinnett County and attended Norcross High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in English Education from the University of Georgia. After graduation, Emily married her husband, Jason, and moved to Virginia, where she taught English and Drama and coached cross country in the public school system just outside of Charlottesville.
Prior to coming to Cornerstone, Emily spent two decades raising her six children: Bo, Ella '21, Jack '22, Sadie '24, Mae '26, and Annie '27. These were deeply formative years for Emily's spiritual and emotional growth. Although she was not teaching in a traditional school setting, Emily homeschooled her children for many years. Through homeschooling and classroom teaching, she has taught every grade from pre-K through high school. Mrs. Dowling’s passion for studying Scripture and growing in her understanding of God’s Word has continued through the years through corporate worship, small groups, and seminary classes. She and her family are members of Solus Presbyterian Church.
